BPA (Bisphenol A) is a chemical compound used in the production of polycarbonate and other plastics. BPA can leak from products made with polycarbonate, especially when exposed to high temperatures. BPA has been associated with hormonal problems and potential effects on brain development and behavior in fetuses, infants, and young children.
